What Amphorapp is, where it runs, and how your account works across devices.
Amphorapp is a premium wine-cellar intelligence platform: label and barcode scanner, modular private cellar, terroir atlas, global wine and grape catalog, portfolio valuation, and sensory games including WineWinner and WineCards. It is built for collectors who treat their cellar as an asset, not a spreadsheet.
Amphorapp runs as a native app on iPhone and iPad (App Store), on Android (Google Play), and in any modern web browser at amphorapp.com. One account syncs across all three.
Yes. Amphorapp queries the global catalog, terroir atlas, label-reading services, and market references in real time. Most screens require an active connection.
On first launch, choose Create account and enter your email, password, country of residence, and date of birth. You must meet the legal alcohol age for the country you select — commonly 18, and 19, 20, or 21 in some countries. We do not require phone number, street address, or government ID at signup.
Yes. Sign in with the same email and password on iOS, Android, or the browser. Your cellar, wishlist, and preferences stay in sync.
The platform is available in six languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, and German. Switch language from the site menu or app settings.
Adults-only service. The minimum age follows the legal alcohol age in your country of residence — commonly 18, and 19–21 in some markets.
Amphorapp is adults-only. The minimum age is the legal minimum age to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages in your country of residence — commonly 18, and 19, 20, or 21 in some countries (for example 21 in the United States, 20 in Japan, 19 in Canada, South Korea, and New Zealand). Country of residence and date of birth are required at registration and enforced by the app and website. Store age ratings (such as App Store 17+ or Google Play Mature) classify content and are separate from this legal check. Full details: amphorapp.com/termos.php#idade-legal.
Yes. Amphorapp applies the legal alcohol age for the country of residence you select at signup or in Profile. Most markets are 18; selected jurisdictions require 19, 20, or 21. Countries without a higher override default to 18. You must declare your true country of residence — choosing another country to bypass the age rule is not allowed.
No. Amphorapp does not sell, ship, or deliver alcoholic beverages. It is a management, intelligence, and education platform only.
Date of birth, together with your country of residence, confirms that you meet the legal alcohol age for that country. It is not used for marketing profiling.
No. Accounts are personal and non-transferable. Only people who meet the legal alcohol age in their country of residence may use Amphorapp. Keep your credentials private.
Email, password, country of residence, and date of birth. WhatsApp, street address, and government ID are not required to create an account.
Yes. Open Profile and update your account credentials at any time. Use a strong, unique password.
Barcode, label photo, and background enrichment — the fastest way to add bottles to your cellar.
There are three modes: visual label read (default — camera or gallery photo, AI identifies the wine), barcode scan (point at EAN/UPC), and QR code read. Label reading works even when no barcode exists.
Both work. Capture the label in the moment or pick an existing image from your gallery.
When the first read is incomplete, Amphorapp continues analyzing the label in the background and fills in missing data automatically. You do not need to scan again.
No. The camera is used only for the optional scanner. Cellar, Terroir, catalog, games, and dashboard work without camera permission.
Intelligence queries — used to enrich label reads with terroir, vintage, producer, and market data — vary by plan. Check the current allowance on the Plans page.
Read-only mode returns the full wine sheet without writing to your cellar or wishlist. Use it to inspect a bottle before deciding where to save it.
Yes. When the camera is slow or out of focus, type the EAN/UPC in the manual barcode field and search.
Yes, on HTTPS with camera permission granted. On mobile browsers, HTTPS is mandatory for camera access.
Track what you paid versus what the market suggests — per bottle or across an entire vault.
Acquisition value is the price you paid for a bottle — what you enter when adding or editing an item in your cellar. It reflects your cost basis, not a public listing.
Scanner market value is Amphorapp's reference price in US dollars, derived from catalog and market intelligence when you scan or enrich a label. It is a benchmark, not a guaranteed sale price.
Open a bottle in your cellar and tap Compare with market. Amphorapp shows your acquisition value, the scanner market price in USD, and the difference.
Yes. Tap Update from scanner market on a single bottle to replace your entered value with the current scanner reference. Confirm before applying — this overwrites your manual figure.
Yes. Use Calculate vault values to see totals, then Update vault from market to overwrite acquisition values for all bottles in that modular cellar with scanner market references. Manual values in that vault will be replaced.
The Dashboard totals your cellar using the acquisition values stored on each bottle. Scanner market USD is shown for comparison and bulk updates, not as the default portfolio total unless you apply it.
Some labels lack a market reference. In that case comparison shows unavailable and only your acquisition value counts toward cellar totals.
Yes. Open the bottle detail in your cellar and update the acquisition value field at any time.
Modular vaults, slot allocation, and wishlist — your physical collection, digitized.
A modular cellar is a grid you configure with rows and columns, a name, and optional layout. Each bottle occupies a specific slot, mirroring your physical shelves if you choose.
Active bottle limits depend on your plan. See the Plans page for current caps per tier.
Yes. The number of modular cellars you can create varies by plan — for example, separating aging wines from ready-to-drink stock in different vaults.
No. Amphorapp manages and analyzes your collection digitally. Physical storage remains entirely your responsibility.
Yes. When you scan a bottle you do not own, add it to your wishlist instead of allocating a cellar slot. The wishlist has its own limit, separate from active cellar capacity.
Yes. From any wine sheet in the global catalog, register the item directly into your cellar or wishlist.
Open the bottle in your cellar grid, change its slot, mark it consumed, or remove it according to the item actions available on that screen.
Portfolio totals, type breakdown, and drinking-window intelligence at a glance.
Total estimated collection value, bottle count, split by type (red, white, sparkling, spirits, and more), and an evolution matrix showing which bottles are young, ready to drink, or in decline.
These are automatic classifications comparing the current year to each wine's ideal drinking window in the catalog. Spirits such as whisky, gin, and cachaça have no decline window and always appear as Stable.
Yes. Indicators recalculate in real time from your current cellar data. No manual refresh is required.
Yes. The Dashboard shows a per-vault summary in addition to the consolidated view of your entire collection.
No. The Dashboard reflects bottles actively registered in your cellar, not wishlist entries.
Totals follow the acquisition values you entered on each bottle. Scanner market references are in USD and appear in comparison tools, not as the default dashboard currency unless you apply them.
The global encyclopedia — searchable, filterable, independent of what you own.
Wines is Amphorapp's global catalog — a searchable encyclopedia of labels worldwide. Your Cellar contains only the bottles you registered.
Search and filter by wine type, grape, country, region, vintage, price band, serving temperature, recommended decanting time, and sensory traits such as acidity, body, and tannins.
Yes. From any wine sheet, register it into your collection without scanning the physical label.
Yes. The catalog covers wine and selected spirits and beverages where data exists. The scanner classifies each item as wine, non-wine, or undetermined.
Catalog entries may show reference pricing and qualitative bands. Scanner market USD on your cellar items comes from the enrichment pipeline at scan or update time and may differ from static catalog fields.
Some public content is open, but full catalog browsing and cellar actions require a signed-in account.
Sensory profiles, color, and regional expression for every major grape.
A catalog of grape varieties with sensory profile (body, acidity, tannins), predominant color (red or white), and the regions of the world where each variety is grown.
Yes. The same grape expresses differently by terroir. Amphorapp cross-references regional variations when building each variety's consolidated profile.
Yes. Select up to six varieties from the list to compare attributes in the built-in comparison view.
Your Palate DNA preferences can reference favorite grapes. WineWinner results also refine which varieties you gravitate toward over time.
No. Grape variety browsing is included for every account regardless of plan.
Three-level atlas — world, country, region — with soil, climate, and style data.
A three-level navigation — world, country, and region — with soil, climate, predominant grapes, wine styles, regional sensory profile, and historical and cultural context.
Structured data (climate, soil, grapes) is available for every registered region. Deeper editorial narrative content is expanded region by region.
No. Terroir Atlas navigation is free for every account, independent of plan.
When a label is enriched, regional terroir data feeds the wine sheet — canonical segmentation, qualitative band, and origin context drawn from the atlas.
Yes. Terroir includes comparison tools for regional metrics such as vineyard area and production where data is mapped.
Yes. Terroir content follows the app language you select.
Blind-tasting game — anonymous bottles, partial scoring, hidden ranks until the host closes the round.
WineWinner is a blind-tasting game: each participant registers a wine (scanned or from catalog), bottles are anonymized as Wine 1, Wine 2, and so on, and everyone guesses country, region, grapes, vintage, and other traits. Scoring is partial — near-misses still earn points.
Not always. Invitees can join as guests with a simplified on-the-spot account and a limited number of free rounds.
Scores stay hidden until the host ends the session. No one knows the standings until the final reveal.
Palate DNA is your taste profile — preferred regions, grapes, and investment band — built manually in Profile and automatically from your WineWinner hits.
From 2 to 24 participants per room.
Any signed-in user with access to the feature can create a room and share an invite link or code.
Yes. League owners can register confirmed WineWinner session results into their league standings.
Trump-style card battles powered by real catalog statistics.
WineCards is a trump-style card duel: each card carries real stats (acidity, body, tannins, aging potential, alcohol, vintage) from the catalog. You pick an attribute, everyone reveals their top card, and the highest value wins the round.
Three: Wine cards (global catalog), Terroir cards (regions), and Grape cards (varieties). The session host chooses which decks are in play.
WineCards is designed for multiplayer sessions via invite link or code. Gather friends, sommeliers, or tasting-club members to play.
Yes. Card attributes are drawn from Amphorapp catalog and terroir intelligence, not arbitrary game numbers.
Yes. Confirmed WineCards session results can be registered into league rankings by the league owner.
Permanent competitive groups that accumulate WineWinner and WineCards results over time.
A League is a permanent competitive group that accumulates WineWinner and WineCards results over time with its own ranking — ideal for tasting clubs, guilds, or friend groups.
Only the league creator or a platform administrator can confirm and register results. Regular participants cannot post scores on their own.
League creation, simultaneous membership, and per-league participant caps vary by plan. Check the Plans page for your tier.
Yes. When creating a league, choose private (invite only) or public.
League limits scale with plan tier. All paid tiers include league participation; caps differ by Basic, Standard, Premium, and Master.
Yes. Leave from the league screen. Historical results already registered remain in the league record.
Public editorial content — eight millennia of wine and hands-on service guidance.
Codex Vinorum is Amphorapp's editorial layer — Wine History (eight thousand years, from clay jars to cellar intelligence) and the Practical Guide (glassware, temperature, decanting, how to read a label), available in all six app languages.
No. Wine History and Practical Guide pages are public on amphorapp.com with no login required.
Yes. Public Codex pages are designed for open access and discovery on the web.
No. Codex Vinorum is narrative and educational. Terroir Atlas is structured regional data tied to the catalog and scanner.
Yes. Editorial content is expanded continuously alongside new regions and guide topics.
Subscription signup and renewal are exclusive to the official stores (Apple App Store / Google Play) — never on the website. On iOS they use Apple In-App Purchase. The current Android build has no Google Play Billing subscriptions.
Amphorapp does not offer a permanent free plan. A trial period with a 20-bottle cellar cap lets you evaluate the platform before choosing a paid tier.
Basic, Standard, Premium, and Master — each with different limits on bottles, modular cellars, intelligence queries, and league participation. See current pricing on the Plans page.
Paid subscriptions on iOS are processed exclusively through Apple In-App Purchase inside the app, with monthly or annual options managed in your Apple ID settings.
On the current Android (Google Play) build, there are no in-app subscription purchases via Google Play Billing. Amphorapp does not process card or PIX payments. Paid iOS subscriptions remain exclusively through Apple In-App Purchase.
Web checkout has been discontinued. Subscription signup and renewal happen only through official store billing — on iOS exclusively via Apple App Store (In-App Purchase). The current Android build does not offer in-app subscription purchases via Google Play Billing. Amphorapp never contracts or renews on the website.
Yes. Cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings at any time. Access continues until the current billing period ends. The current Android build has no Google Play Billing subscriptions.
Yes. Your plan is tied to your Amphorapp account, not the device. Sign in on any platform to access your entitlements.

Credentials, Palate DNA, deletion, and how your data is handled.
Profile holds account settings — password, legal data, and account deletion. Palate DNA is your tasting preference profile — regions, grapes, budget — a separate screen inside the app.
Go to Profile → Delete account, confirm your email and current password. Deletion permanently removes your account, cellar, and associated data. This cannot be undone.
Yes. Contact [email protected] if you cannot access the app. Deletion remains subject to legal retention obligations where applicable.
Yes. Images submitted through the scanner are linked to your account for future reference and to improve read accuracy, as described in our Privacy Policy.
No. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy is published at amphorapp.com/privacidade.php and linked from Profile and the site footer, available in all supported languages.
Your cellar is private by default. Only data you explicitly share — such as in a WineWinner session or league — is visible to other participants in that context.
Camera, HTTPS, login, sync, and subscription issues — direct fixes.
Ensure the site loads over HTTPS, grant camera permission when prompted, and reload the page. Mobile browsers block camera access on non-HTTPS sites.
Open your device or browser settings, find Amphorapp or amphorapp.com under permissions, and allow camera access. Then reload the scanner.
Verify email and password, check your internet connection, and reset your password from the login screen if needed. Contact [email protected] if the account was deleted.
Confirm you are signed into the same account on both devices and that each has an active connection. Pull to refresh or sign out and back in if data looks stale.
Check your connection and retry. If the label read completed, use the saved read data to add the bottle again without rescanning.
Tap Restore purchases on iOS. The current Android build has no Google Play Billing subscriptions. Sign out and back in if entitlements still look wrong.
Leave the app connected for several minutes and reopen the bottle sheet. Rare labels may remain partial if no catalog match exists.
Email [email protected] with your account email, device, and a short description of the issue. Include screenshots when helpful.
